Holofoyl Privacy Policy
In short
Holofoyl runs on your device, and there are no Holofoyl accounts. On iPhone and iPad your collection and card photos are kept on your device and in your own iCloud account. To get card data, the app downloads public files from Fordyce's card data service. Every copy of the app asks for the same files for the games it has. Like any website, the service sees your IP address and which files your device asks for. Fordyce keeps no logs of these requests and doesn't sell or share anything about you.
What stays on your device
Your collection, card photos, wishlist, decks, sales, prices and settings are stored on your device.
On iPhone and iPad, Holofoyl always keeps your collection, associated card information, card photos and settings in your own iCloud account, under Apple's terms, so they're the same on every device signed in to it. If you aren't signed in to iCloud, they stay on your local device until you are.
Who your device talks to
- Our card data service, and its hosting provider. It sends card facts, rules text, small card pictures and prices, built from the card data sources below. While the app is open, your device checks it every hour and downloads each game's new files once a day. The files are the same for everyone. The hosting provider receives your IP address, your app's version and which files are requested.
- The card data sources our service is built from, credited on the app's About screen. When you open a card, your device gets its full-size picture and flavour text from the source; Fordyce's service never carries them. If Fordyce turns its service off, the app gets card data, pictures and prices from these sources directly.
- Our release hosting, where Fordyce publishes the version file and the sponsor card's picture.
- The app store you installed the app from.
- eBay and Fordyce's eBay sign-in server, only if you link your eBay account. See Selling on eBay below.
These services receive your IP address and the requests your device makes, under their own privacy policies.
Holofoyl recognizes cards on your device. This version doesn't send your card photos to Fordyce or to any AI service.
The version file and remote switches
The app reads Fordyce's version file to learn whether a newer version exists and which features are on. Fordyce can use it to turn off a game, a card data source, a kind of data such as small pictures, or a price source. Turning a price source off deletes that source's prices from your device. They download again if it's turned back on. Your collection, photos and everything else stay.
Buy links and the sponsor card
Buy buttons open a card's page on a card store's website in your web browser. Holofoyl itself never contacts the store and does not record or count these clicks. You can hide every Buy button in Settings.
The app may show one sponsor card, the same for everyone. It is not targeted, and the app reports nothing about whether you see or tap it. Tapping it opens the sponsor's website in your browser, under the sponsor's own privacy policy.
Selling on eBay
With Holofoyl Plus you can link your own eBay account and list cards from your collection on eBay. Nothing goes to eBay unless you link it.
- When you list a card, Holofoyl sends your photos and details of that card to eBay, signed in with your eBay login.
- From your eBay account, Holofoyl reads your eBay username and user ID, your shipping, payment and return policies, and the city, state and ZIP code of a ship-from location you set up on eBay. It never makes or changes one. If you have none, you enter the ZIP code your cards ship from when you list, and it goes to eBay with that listing.
- Holofoyl doesn't read your name, email, phone number or street address from eBay. For a business account, eBay sends the business's contact details and address along with its username; Holofoyl skips them as they arrive and never stores, shows or sends them.
- Your eBay login is kept in the keychain of the device you linked. It isn't synced to your other devices, and it is never stored on Fordyce's servers.
- Fordyce's sign-in server (auth.holotcg.io) swaps eBay's sign-in code for your login, refreshes the login, and ends it when you unlink. It passes eBay's answer back to your device and keeps nothing.
- Your eBay listings, order IDs, sale figures, eBay's fees and the status of any payment dispute are kept with your collection as part of its record, and sync with it.
- Holofoyl never stores a buyer's name or address. While you ship an order, it shows the buyer's name, city and state from eBay, and drops them when you're done.
eBay's own privacy notice covers what eBay does with your account and listings.
When you email us
Report a problem opens an email to support@fordycecg.com in your own mail app. It is sent only if you send it, and it holds what you see in it: your app version, device and games, and recent errors if you choose to include them.
Your age range
On iPhone and iPad, where the law asks apps to check age, Holofoyl asks the system for your age range when it starts, using Apple's own feature for this. iOS asks you, or your parent or guardian decides, whether to share it, and shares only a range, such as 13 to 15, never your birthday. Holofoyl uses it on your device for one thing only: if the range is under 18, the app doesn't offer selling on eBay, because eBay requires its users to be 18 or older. Holofoyl keeps the answer in the app's memory until you close it. It isn't saved, synced, logged or sent anywhere, and Fordyce never sees it. You can change what you share in your device's Settings, under your name, Personal Information, Age Range for Apps.
Children
Holofoyl has no accounts and doesn't ask anyone, including children, for personal information.

We will publish any change to this policy with a new effective date.
